Still in progress ~ 90%

You know when you work very hard on something for like two months and then you can't even get one decent picture of it?

Update on Sculpting progress

I'm so sorry for not updating for ages >< I've been sculpting a lot, working on older and new projects, and I have too many of them going on.

Here's a little update, the Cleric and Hunter faceplates are doing well, they still need more sanding though. The Berserk faceplate of which I don't have any recent pictures gets its coating.

And I've been mostly concentrated on a 30cm doll, Kirai Solan which is fairly new. The 30cm Kirai body is that of a robot with cartoonish shapes, very stylized anatomy and cute proportions. Solan faceplate should not be the only one for this doll, but I won't be working on any other ones for the moment. Not until I have all of it done ^^"

I'll try to get more pictures next week :)

禿び

A chibi lezard-demon! Or warm-ghost. Or undead shrimp. Anyways, a small aggrissive and cute fella.
I'm not sure if it'a  girl or a boy character. I'd rather stick to boy - it doesn't seem anything like girly.
I's a birthday gift from my friends, it's so weirdly unusual and cute. And it's heavy and chubby and has little claws that are just perfect! I still need to paint its body with glyphs, and give it some accessories or clothes, and props. And find him a better wig ^^" Just look at it:

Doll Project, again eh?

Slumberboy - concept.

Finally finished a concept drawing of this guy:
The character's name is Vergillian Slumber - you can call him Vergil, I'll just stick with slumberboy.

Virgillian used to be an amaizing boy with a powerful gift - that of healing himself and others from any injury or sickness.
But at the age of 14 he gets himself killed - having his inconscious body tied up and abandoned in an industrial refrigirator. He could heal his wounds but eventually his body froze. Two years later thanks to a blackout the temperature raises and the boy awakens from his sleep. Awake and - undead, with the ability (and a necessity) to suck life out of living things in order to  maintain his own existence that can no longer be retrieved.
He changed his name and kept on going by stealing little shreds of life from the people around him. He's always feeling cold and wears warm clothes even during summer time (unlike what you see on the picture).
The ropes left post-mortem injuries on his body while it was asleep and he can no longer heal those, since he lonst his gift for healing along with his own life. The unnatural lifeless slumber that took over him also left frost marks upon his skin, intricate patterns of blue and white.

The 16-year-old slumberboy is not of a sinister character though, he's a bit cynical, but mainly does what other teenagers do - goes to school, wants to date girls and play video games. Except that he makes people sick in order to survive. And it's kinda hard to date a girld since he also looks quite sickly and still appears to be more like a 14year old kid since his body has a hard time growing up while being... dead.

Eye color: Pink or Blue
(depending on how cold he is)
Hair color: Pale blue
Skin color: Pale pink
Height: 1m68
Favorite weapon: scarf
Favorite food: hot chocolate

Slumberboy

My new bjd project: an unliving frozen boy.
I just had to get myself this head, and I could not resist but to give it a face-up! It's a teamporary one since I'm still waiting for his body and a very thorough face blushing will be needed for the colors to match.

Cuts and Curves

Teaser time! I'm about 50% done with the body this far.
That means still half-way to go, so it doesn't look very fancy for the moment, all unpolished and raw.

I'll be telling more about what I'm trying to do here later on :)
For now I gotta get more sandpaper  and be finishing the resculpting work.

Resin-work is in progress!

No pictures yet, but I can assure you I've been working on a new custom bjd project, mostly on the body for the moment since the head is - still - not shipped yet. I'v already made some changes I was aiming for (and they did give me some hard time already ) and I've still got a hella lot of work to do.

If I should give any hint about it, here's one : There will be blood :)

I'll try to get some wip pictures this week end if it's going well enough.

Waiting never ends...

I have probably mentioned that I am waiting for another doll. Or didn't I?
A Supia boy hybrid, that will be, if it works out fine!
All parts were ordered, and I've already been through a bunch of waiting days, yet there is still more of them to come.
I'm both eager and anxious about it, that will be my first doll of the "real" SD size, and a hybrid I don't know much about, and a face that I both love and will have to mod.
Actually, I can't wait :D For the mods, the faceup, and having him at home.
Amaris is a pretty thing, unlike my blackened alien-boy (Vice) and the little grey monster (Seth). And I always wanted to get a doll that won't scare the hell out of people and would really be pleasant to look. And of course, would be interesting to play around to take the pictures and make up some photo sets.

What's going on?

Well folks, there are big things going on! And when I say big, I mean huge on my scale :D
I have just received my brand new and actually only doll taht I'm totally in love with.
As you might have noticed, I have sold my unoa hybrid boys in order to get myself working on something more complex and exciting. Well, now I am!
I've never attempted somethnig go umm hurting and something that irreversible on a doll yet, so i'm pretty much surprised that I'm not more afraied than this. Because it feels like I'm not, I'm just hardly enjoyng the smell of resin dust and epoxy, but t'm having a lot of fun with this doll so far.
I wonder if I am right to go this far, and whether I am going to enjoy the final result as much as the naked and unmodded doll itself, but hey, you never know, right?
So that I'm both excited about working on on it, and really eager to finish the work and see what it ends up looking like.
